I have a 1989 civic dx and wanted to swap in a 1995 honda civic dx engine i was wondering what do i need to make this possible. And can i use the same tranny im using now.

 

if you have the 4sp, toss it and get an SI trans,
the 4sp will suck and you will not realize the potential of your swap.

sombody correct me if I am wrong, I think you can use any d- tranny with any d- motor though.

why dont u just swap to mpfi get an si trans and call it a day
unless your motor is blown i dont see the point in that swap

Well if theres no point in swaping in the 95 civic engine how about a d16y8 what would i need .

 

I say this all the time, go to either google or yahoo, and type in whatever you want to know. Seriously! For instance, if I want to know something about putting a D16Z6 head onto a D15B2, I would type in "D16Z6 head D15B2 head swap" or something similar.

Doing searches like the one described above has got to be the best way to learn. Asking someone on a forum how to do a particular swap isn't always best, because there are alot of different ways to do something, and one persons way of doing something may not be considered properly done versus another person who does things correctly. This is why searching on search engines will uncover OFFICIAL swap guides, which will have VERY accurate information.
