Toyo vs Kumho
Need advive on good tires that are for wet/dry/ and little snow once in a while. I drive my LS stock with a ACT street clutch thats very grippy. any way i drive agressive and i need a decent tire under 70.00 thats going to last longer than 3 months, more like one year if "possible". Im going to cali from dallas in couple weeks so i need some thing dependable thanx.
Well you fit the right candidate for the Kumho SPT. The only thing is you mentioned you might use in snow and I wouldn't suggest that too much!
The SPT is a summer tire with good dry performance, excellent wet traction and a good threadlife about 35k.
Now if you need something more year long I would suggest the Kumho ASX which is a good all season tire. It is nowhere near the SPT in performance but you could use it in the snow!

Holy crap I reccomend the Toyo Proxes4 BIG TIME.
Its by no means cheap, but its a phenominal tire. It grips and grips and grips in corners. Its also pretty quiet for a low profile (if you get like a 40 profile like me). The treadlife is about 30k, I got 32k out of mine. They grip so well, even in the rain, I don't have to change my driving style. I can't say enough about how good they are, just the grip and the awesome wet traction and even the fuel economy is good. I don't know how a tire that grips so well gives such low rolling resistance for good gas mileage.

If snow driving were not a possibility, and if temperatures rarely get down to freezing (32 degrees F) in your area I would say the Kumho SPT is a great tire. Seeing that you did mention snow, I would recommend an All-Season tire... and as mentioned above me the Toyo Proxes4 is a great All-Season tire (better than the Kumho ASX in my opinion).
If you don't need all-season tires - if you have alternatives for the few times you get snow - then summer tires will give you better performance for most of the year. The Kumho SPT is an excellent, inexpensive summer tire. Other good choices include the Yokohama ES100 and Avon Tech M500.
If you do need all-season tires, the Toyo Proxes 4 is mediocre, nowhere near as good as the Kumho ASX.
BTW, tire treadlife is usually measured in miles, not months. If you drive 250 miles a month, your tires will last a lot longer than if you drive 2500 miles a month.

Thank you for the reccomends, I have been looking into picking up a set of 4's soon. That makes me that much more confident that they are good, hearing it from previous users.

Not to bash you in particular, but SPT's suck. For the money they are ok... and i stress ok. I have driven on them in multiple sizes and was not impressed at all in the wet or dry. I actually like my Nitto NeoGens better. For the money in my opinion BFG G-Force Sports. I have owned these in 205/40-17's and 205/45-16's and loved them. Awesome wet and dry traction for the money. One of my favorite overall tires, though, is the BFG KDW. Toyo's can be good tires but only in certain sizes. I sell tires and have been to many, many ride and drives on with many different brands of tires and I do have a damn good amount of knowledge on the subject. I don't go by what magazines say on the ratings of tires. I go by personal experience. And I have owned many tires that were great IMO but ranked bad by a magazine. Just my.02

Not to bash you in particular, but the SPT is an awesome tire for the price. Not the best tire in the world, but better than any other tire close to its price.

Again, not to bash you in particular, but I just don't believe you. I've ridden on the SPT in pouring rain on the track at Road America, and they were simply outstanding. (And they're very good on dry pavement, too!)

Wow - the NeoGen and the g-Force Sport. Two tires that TRULY suck!

Now, that's a tire that performs okay. It's just WAY overpriced. (So, in terms of "bang for the buck", it sucks, too.
)
There are lots of tires out there, that are better in different ways. But whenever one tire is better than another in every way, there's no point in getting the other tire. The SPT is the best tire in its price range (although there may be specific sizes in which there are exceptions). The SPT is far, far better in every way - dry performance, wet performance, treadlife - than the g-Force Sport which costs about the same. Same thing with comparing the KDW against the SPT or Goodyear F1 GS-D3 - the KDW has the same performance as the SPT which costs half as much, and is inferior in performance to the GS-D3 which is the same price, so there's no reason to get the KDW. Similarly, if you need an all-season tire (because you need to use the same tires on snow as the rest of the year), the Kumho ASX is better than the NeoGen and costs less.

And I bet you don't sell Kumho.
