Default electrical short

Hey everyone... just finished my d16y8 swap, and I've run into a problem... the car was running fine, and I shut it off normally. then, when I tried to start it again, it clicked a bunch of times and wouldn't do aything. I tried it a few times, and I noticed that it began to smkoe under the dash... how would I go about fixing this. The battery is fine, and so's the starter (most likely) where to begin? All fuses are good... Help?

Mine did something similar. These damn yellow rex's hehehe. Well mine was a guy bypassed the main fuse cause i guess it burnt out and needed a quick fix. Im guessing he then added the little rod to complete the circuit.

That rod got hot enough to burn a hole in my underhood fuse box and it reaked l;ike freaking sheet. I replaced it with a fuse and it was all good.

Just letting you know of similar yellow hexed car stories.

For your problem.

Check all fuses and replace as neccasary
Get a good digital voltmeter and resistance meter.
Disconect your battery.
Check resistance from batt - to the ground
Check resistance from starter + to batt +_ etc.

Work your way through the car till you find wires with high resistance and there you go fix them up and you on your way!

Good luck

Here are some pics of what that jackass of a previous owner did.....

damn freeking idiot !!!!

Same thing happened to me but all I did was have someone try and push start it and no problem since. I think the starter got stuck or something like that. But just like you all it did was click and extremly rapidly too.
