clutch repair

Default clutch repair

ok when remove the trans to get to the clutch it looks like my trans has 2 parts 2 it...
is so what part do i remove to replace the clutch? remove the tranny from the motor?

Yes, the transmission itself is a split case design. You want to remove the 'whole' transmission, instead of just 1/2 of it, to get at the clutch. Yes, the starter needs to be removed. It's really just the lower bolt though, because the upper only threads into the transmission itself.

ok so it is a split case is there a gasget that go inbetween the two?

There is no gasket that goes between the transmission and the engine. There is gasket maker (called HondaBond) between the tranny 1/2's though.

i got the 92-95 civic & delsol one but i got the tanny offf and i need to get the hondabond anyone know were i can pick some up?
