OPINIONS!!!! B16 DC2
hello, i have a dc2, that has a b16 obo1 in it.
some people says that i is goin to be slow as hell.
but i just beat a the 2000 model prelude with it.
i dont know if its just me but i cant really believe it.
supposebly, this engine has type r cams and pistons, valve springs,
etc.
well i just need some opinions.
and how do u check your cams if they are type r or not?
and the pistons?
let me know.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong but the ITR and b16 cams have a different lift and lobe sizes, also check if the stock cam gears have an imprint of pr3 which represents b16 if not then its something else. And the Pistons, you'll have to take the head off and the markings will be on the pistons pr3 or p30 for b16's and type-r would have p73. Lotta work just to see whats inside the motor.

Alot of people on here have little to no knowladge and just jump on bandwagons and then all this false info spreads. A B16 isnt going to make an integra slow. They are just as quick as a integra with an b18a/b. I have had a b16 integra and a b18 integra and they both ran a 15.7 stock.
Just so I can say I helped.

Thats everything you need to know in identifying the cams you have.

a b16 in an integra rs will not be slow it will actualy be faster than an a 1999-2000 civic si an thats because an dc2 rs weights 2529 ponds as compare to the civic si 2616 pounds so do the math and you will see with one woud be faster now an integra ls
weights 2649 pounds not alot compare to an si. an integra rs is even lighter than a itr
with weights 2579 pounds

B16 & ITR cams are different. You will have to pull the valve cover and cam caps to see which cams you have. Check out FF-squad's link to figure out which they are.
Cam gear stamps won't tell you anything.
Try doing a compression test, and bring your results back here.

This is so true. People think a B16 Teg will be a pig, but the same people think a 99 Si is a friggin racecar.
