So I purchased a car with yellow calipers and had a can of primer sitting around, not the ideal way to fix it, but I could not stand looking at it.

The primer is holding well for now, after 2 months, but I would like to paint it silverish metal like new OEM.

What do you guys recommend I use and how to best go about so it sticks well?

 

I just sanded mine down with 100 grit, then 220 grit, then finally 600 grit wetsand

put some metal polish on them and clearcoated them. I like how they look

 

got any picture of how they look? did it turn out smooth since you sanded it down?

 

I'll take pics this afternoon. I didn't sand them completely smooth, they still have the stock texture, but they're just bright silver and semi-reflective. I'll get pics up in a bit.

 

Sorry for the stupid question, but is 'metal polish' in a spray can?

 

 

nah its in a can...it's a cream

then I just cleaned it up with mineral spirits and sprayed clearcoat on top of it...else it would become rusted again
