i love all crxs, but you posted this in the wrong forum.

try appearance/cosmetic, unless you add some sort of technical aspect to the first post.

i would get new lugnuts too if i were you, those are all rusted to ****. if you decide to change wheels, you might have a problem with them stripping out the studs or just breaking completely off. not fun.

Off to a good start...One piece of advice though...Enough with the red accent paint...that was never cool Good luck and look forward to some updates!

its not paint. its powdercoat. and i think it looks better than seeing dirty oily calipers or valvecovers.

Only on Honda-Tech would someone complain about fuel prices after they just swapped a D15B6 for a B18.

Just clean them...if there is oil..reseal them ....You will eventually upgrade or go back to stock...we have all been through that stage....LOL good luck with your project...I say you put the mitsu aside and keep concentrating on the CRX Afterall...you don't wanna rack up any miles on it

yea its fun. as of right now its just a basic complete rebuild on the motor. you guys are gonna hate me for what im about to tell you but here goes. i bought the car for 350 with a bad alternator and a dohc zc motor out of the car. (still had the running d15 in the car) sold the d15 swap for 200 bucks and the zc for 75 bucks. so i payed 75 bucks for the car. picked up 2 complete ls motors and 1 jdm b16 tranny for 650. traded the b16 tranny for a ls tranny complete da brake upgrade and 100 bucks. so as of right now ive got about just under 1000 bucks in this car.

Wow, did you paint your brake rotors?? Isn't that bad for the pads?? Create buildup and make the non -useful?

there is mixed opinions on this matter. In less than half a mile all the paint is off of the rotors and they work fine, it is just being lazy to tape them off. I would never do it just for piece of mind, I am sure people have better reasoning than that as to why you can cant do it, just i know I like nice clean pad//rotor contact on my vehicles. But no it wont make them unusable as far as I have ever seen or heard of.

they are powdercoated to help the aspect of rust forming on the rotors that are not hit by the pads. and i have had no problems with them. i barely sprayed the rotors where the pad hits. but i have never heard of brake failure due to paint or powdercoating the rotors.

ps. rims are borrowed til i can buy some.

That "rust" comes off when you use the brakes.

By the way, nice project car! You're off to a great start.

He powder coated them so the rust that would normally form on the NON contact surfaces would not appear.
