Eibach sportline question?? cutting the bumpstops???
ok just got my sportline kit today, and it says you have to trim the rear bumpstops. why is this??? do i really have to take out the shock and do this? i saw on 8thgen, there was a debate on doing it and not doing it. what should i do?? is it really necessary
So you have some strut travel. Cut 1/4 to 1/2 of the bumpstop. If you don't trust the instructions or my advice find out what happens after you take it out on the road. lol
i didnt cut my bumpstops on my EF....
they recommend cutting bumpstops so you have shock travel.
if you don't cut your bumpstops, in some cases you'll be riding on them.

I just put eibach sportlines on my SI i cut the front bump stops like it said but i didn't cut the rear 1's because you have to drill something but i can always do it some other time. They need to be cut because its lower and they need some more travel so yea i would rec cutting them like it says the drop looks amazing it rides like stock but turns are so easy now its not even funny

no... a bump stops one and only job is to keep the strut from bottoming out. it acts a cushion if the strut compresses to far.. it has NO effect on height.

Follow the instructions they are there for a reason. Eibach is a trusted brand, they would not have you cut something on your car if it was not necessary. </TD></TR></TABLE>
