TINT - what level did u buy?
I've heard people say to get limo for the sides and dark for the back. What level of shade did u get and can you still see out of the windows at night while driving?
35% is a happy medium IMO.
It's dark... but not vision inhibiting when driving and parking at night.
I have 5% on the rears of my Integra and it can be troublesome at night. I have yet to tint my Fit though... when I do it will most likely be 35%.

Twenty percent is, in my opinion, about as dark as you want to go before night visibility really begins to become a safety issue. As Plim stated, 35% is a nice overall compromise between visibility, privacy, and appearance. However, window film preference varies quite a bit from one individual to another. Also keep in mind that, in California, essentially any film on the driver or passenger front windows will be illegal.
I had 5% on my S2000. It was retarded dark. I had to lower my windows at night when I was turning to make sure I wasn't going to run over anybody. 20-35% is perfect. I got 35% on my 4Runner, and it's great.
That's sounds like great advice! I am going to a professional place. Do you just say you want 35%? I notice people throw out terms here like Limo or Dark. I can't wait to get it before it hits the 100's here this summer!

Yeah, go in and say you want 35% on the windows. However, if you're in California...this is what I found...

I think shops will do 70% and still be in compliance with the law. You can find a shop that will do illegal tints (which 35% is), but you might run into problems with the cops or safety/emissions people.
I'm sure people from CA will chime in here and give you some advise on that.

Do you think the factory tint on the FIT plays a role in this when the shop tints it or is it a non factor? Also, i plan to only do the back 5 windows so hopefully that will work for the 35%. :-)

With regard to the 70% CA limitation on the front windows, the factory tint (even though it's barely visible) does factor in. In fact, most plain factory window glass has a transmission level close to 70%, so there isn't much besides a totally transparent film that a shop could apply to the fronts and still be in true compliance with the law. Regardless, you won't have any problems with the tint you choose being applied to your Fit. Just make sure the shop you go to is reputable, and remember that you don't only want to go for the lowest price when selecting a tinter.

Unless you're a hot chick or put out a massive gay-vibe, I don't buy this excuse.

HA-HA yeah. You know you get those people that just seem to stare in your direction at a light sometimes either they are just zoned out or have nothing better to look at it just kind of disturbs me to have someone just looking at me.
i just got today 5 on the rear five and 15 on the front 4 with a small strip on the windshield looks really good, expensive but the people i go to do incredible jobs on cars
We'll be putting 35 on the Fit just like I have on my other vehicles. It helps a lot with the sun and isn't so dark that you won't pass inspection or be pulled over for it.
