Hi guys, Strangley enough this isnt covered in past posts. Most guys butcher these shocks in a hurry using them with a 5" drop and 600lb springs. Is there anyone that has used them with stock springs for a long period of time? How do they hold up with the stock springs? how are they compared to the stock honda shocks, that i'd have to re-mortgage the house to buy. ALSO, does bilstein make the touring shocks for 94+ integras? I've seen the bilstein PN's but some places dont show they exist. Thanks,
GR-2's are probably one of the nicest stock replacement shocks for the price. You can't go wrong, they have a lifetime warenty.

Thanks for the reply. Its amazing how different shocks can behave when theyre used for their proper purpose! I'll keep that in mind.
Gr2s ARE made For OEM replacment, Not for drops or anything along those lines
The AGXs are made for perfromance....

When installing, can I reused the OEM metal dust boots on the KYB GR2 Struts? Will the OEM metal dust boots work on the KYB GR2 Struts or do they have to be modified to work? Or do I need to purchase the KYB rubber dust boots?

I dont think theres a problem reusing the metal boots. I think theyre are only clearnace issues using them on coilover sleeves. If you do run into problems, Rancho makes great rubber dust boots you can order in black. They fit really well inside the spring, and look sharp.

Its frusterating trying to descide to go with them or not. I the main problem with them is that thyre inconsistent. I had a set years ago on the front of my old integra with 400lb coilovers and the ride was fine for 3 years or so. Then Ive heard of them blowing out on stock springs in a year or so. Im sure the design is a good one, and theyre a good company, but it is a gamble. If I had to do it again, id go bilstein touring or boge or something like that. Although a LOT of shops use KYB as the recommended aftermarket replacement. It makes my head hurt. Im not into the aftermarket stuff anymore, and as much as koni and bilstein are the baddest shocks going, Theres something to be said for going to the dealer and buying OEM to have you running for another 120,000 miles again for the extra $180 bucks or so over the regular aftermakrte stuff. Im sure konis and bilstiens would go the distance on stock springs, but theyre overkill for most.
So lets say they go out every 3 years with your stock spring (i really dont think they will) take them back to where you bought them with your recipt and they will give you brand new ones. You can do this over and over and over there is no limit they have a lifetime warenty. Koni or Bilstein dont offer a warrenty like that, so lets say the shocks go out 3 years or maybe even 5 years down the road your going to have to buy new ones...
