well then how about posting a question that has an answer, because there is no way in expletive that you are going to get those kinds of revs, and if you did, youll never make power that high so it is pointless

Engines that rev that high ditch conventional valvesprings and retainers.

no **** it has an answer, but what you are talking about is a formula one set-up in a bseries which is neither practical or worth it...i do not need to feel better about myself, but i will however, point out a stupid question when i deem that it is neccesary

2006+ yamaha R6 springs are good to about 17,500 with factory support.

Desmodromic is too heavy. It's fine on 12,500 Ducatis though. They spec resetting the valve lash every 6000 miles and that's about the only place that you'll find them too.

It's already been proven to work on 16000+ rpm applications. If i'm not mistaken they also run it on the GP bike wich is capable of 19000 rpm.

If one is running 15k rpm, one would probally be worying about other things then resetting the valve lash every 9000 km. </TD></TR></TABLE>

im still going to say that it is not functional or practical on a bseries motor...plus i dont think there would be a crank that could handle those types of revs for that motor...the highest i have seen and it been even a little reliable was 11,400 rpms, even then there were signs of imminent failure

Those 600 class bikes can rev that high with "conventional" valvetrains because those little bores hold tiny little titanium (sometimes) valves with aluminum or titanium retainers. Since the valves are so small, they have very little mass. An F1 car with its 80-90 (?)mm bores has much larger valves which a spring can't control much above 14-15k.

What real drawbacks at high rpm does a desmodromic system have?
