Default My s2k's officially dead....

Just a lil update. My girl wrecked my '02 s2k on the 11th and yesterday they finally decided to total it. They towed it out of state and when i got a print out of my estimate, it was so friggin bogus that i had to call and argue it. 1 example: They said it would cost 400 each for my rear wheels (Drifz venom's) and 270 (Fuzion Zri's) for 1 tire. My wheels were 110, if that, each and the tire was 90 bucks and i have the reciepts. 2nd example: They said my entire front end had to be replaced and that my top was damaged/cut. First off, there was no damage to the front, maybe a couple small rock chips, but hey, it's my daily driver. They said the front bumper cover was 410 dollars plus the emblem and paint and labor etc.. The top was not even scratched from the accident. no rips, no tears, no nothing. Oh, and they're "investigating" as to why the bags deployed when there was no damage to the front, yet somehow with no damage, they say my front end needs to be replaced.
When i said i wanted another estimate they said i'd have to have it towed and most likely pay for the tow. well from waldorf, md to fredericksburg, va is not exactly a cheap tow.
I loved the car but it's not worth the hassle and time. Plus, to me, it seems like the person writting the estimate or someone there wanted the car. I know they can fix it for fairly cheap because after taking out all the non needed Bs i had teh estimate down to 7000 from 10,441.
So if your in Md and need parts, keep an eye out. Everything except the right rear is perfect. Motor has like 56k on it. Ran perfect. Interior is super clean, cept for the air bags. seats are great. no tears, cuts, stains etc..
It's at a place called coparts in md.
It wa my baby so i always took care of it.
It would be perfect to build as a h1 car!!!

insurance over-estimating is a good thing...better than being shorted for the repairs if they were to repair.

imo...id rather have them total it.

Why would you want it repaired after its been in an accident? Totalled is what everybody wants after an accident.

very true, but the damage was not like they said so that is just annoying. I've wanted an S since they came out and i finally got one. oh well, just sentimental (sp?) i guess.

well just take the check and ask to buy the car back from them
usually its pretty cheap and fix it yourself if the damage is so little
