so my buddy just bought a 97 prelude automatic steptronic with 43k miles , getting a good deal on it

can anyone tell me if its practical for him to swap it to 5speed, and what would he need and how much roughly would this run him to do.... hes going to have the car for a number of years and is looking for a 5speed but couldnt pass up this lude.

 

I did the swap, got a 5spd LSD and 4 puck clutch etc... all swapped for a total of 2,000$ canadian. the transmission and parts etc themselves totaled up to 1500$ - 500$ in labour for the total swap, parts installation (clutch master cylinder, shift linkage, etc...)
I also got an OBD 1 conversion.

EDIT: that is one clean lude...

 

That'll be one of the best mods your friends does to his car.

I did the swap... it is practical if you get your parts from the right place. Its even better if you can do the labor yourself. It is still the best "mod" so far.
