Default Opinions needed involving RSX S with ceased motor.

My buddy has an 03' RSX S 43xxxx on the clock pretty much bone stock. He got it at about 30xxxx and drove the **** out of it because he doesn't care. I told him he would have oil starvation problems if he kept cranking it up bone *** cold and running it hard not giving it a chance to warm up. So I come into work today and he tells me that his car is no longer running and it broke down, right away I knew what had happened. At about 4pm the Honda dearlership called and told him they could replace his motor with a reman for $6500 he said expletive that I'll get something else and sell this. What would be a reasonable price for me to buy this car for? I want to get something K series. I drive a Hswapped EG hatch now. I would like to do something like the 2.4l bottom end. Just some opinions on prices? and what they would do.

that's a good question but thing is you can wheel and deal him and prolly pull it off for roughly 4k maybe. If you can swing lower good on ya but one thing is if he knows his cars then you really wont get it really cheap. Depending how you look at this but honda motors even when they blow, they still hold a reasonable value (depending what happened). But i still would try to stretch your dollar cuz i'm pretty sure you can make a steal. GL with it.

Your friend is an idiot. Trade a baseball bat in his teeth for the car.

i bought my type s with 77k on it doe 6500 had a seized motor.. spun #4 any who i spent so far right under 6 grand for having the motor rebuilt, and go fast goodies, the car will put down 235 WHP when said and done and running stock cams.. i will eventually run cams from jeff at import builders and beright around 250WHP that makes car cost right at 13 grand.. when i get the money im goign to have a stage three head job done and the car will be in the 280 area.. ... so buy that car for as cheap as you can get it.. you can rebuild the motor for the same cost of a new one and make more power.. if thats to much work hit up HMOtors.com and buy a drop in.
