Well I'm looking for some information on what to do and buy with this swap on my project car. 94 Civic DX (Currently all stock)
Engine has to go first of all...

Im want to have a turbo with it down the road. It will be used for mainly street, just basically to mess with the other imports in town and give some a run for thier money. Im looking to spend about 4-4.5g's after the turbo is in.
So first off I was looking at going with a b16 or b18 but dont know.... LSD is nice but not needed for what ill be using it for I belive.

Im looking to see if someone can help me out pro's con's with what i want to do to it in the future, and let me know what kind of motor and from what web site to get it from.

D series can only boost till 7psi before making things go boom

umm you seem a bit uneducated to be posting something like this. first off 7 psi means little since 7psi makes different horsepower levels on different turbos. a stock d series is capable of around 200whp relatively safely with a good tune. in the end a b series has more potential, but still the intitial cost is higher after purchasing the swap, tuning it up and installing it which means less money for boost if you are on a budget...

as for turbo, what kind of power are you looking for? oh and check out homemadeturbo.com and dseries.org for kicks

 

Understand.... But the stock D has to go, its buring oil and idle problem... (From previous owner) So thats why I was thining a B is best to put in there wile the stock one is out.... and yes on a budget but looking for boost

 

In all fairness, you can make 350 HP (safe) with b series shoe box turbo, the main thing comes to who can tune.

I love SOHC, and I miss mine to this day dont get me wrong, it was fun driving it on boost.

But look at the flip side of things with B series prices are dropping and a lot more options around then D series.

But come the end of the day, B or D or any motor, if you want cheap HP, get a turbo set up!

any motor on boost can run extremely well, it just depends on the setup and the tune, i had a h22-t in my hatch and the guy didnt tune it right and i fried it the other night racing, just get a good setup and a good tune and you will have plenty of fun

What prices are dropping? You are being a little vague. I don't see prices dropping on B series VTEC engine from legitimate retailers.
