obd0 Z6 question
Well, my buddy bought a clean 90 crx si, but the guy who had it put in a z6 block and head and tried to run vtec on obd0. The dizzy is a "modified" a6 one held on by washers. Car has a summit rpm switch to engage vtec, but is it supposed to be wired to the vtec solenoid? I think the ecu is stock, so not diff fuel maps. I rode in the car, and if vtec engages its very faint and hard to tell, but possible at 5k. I told him best thing would be convert to obd1, but for now he wanted to know the best way to run it. Also, radiator fan isn't coming on, any ideas? Fuse is good. I run the same setup, but with obd1, so this is unfamiliar to me, figured h-t would know.
In a nutshell, If he wants to run it 'properly' in OBD-0 he will need to chip his ECU and run, say Turboedit and have an unused 12 volt output (Air Con) and have that as the trigger for the VTEC Solenoid.
the fan switch on the Z6 head is on the thermostat housing and the A6 motor is on the back of the block. Just extend the two wires from the back of the block to the thermostat housing of the Z6. If you need the wiring let me know I can make a custom harness for it
Yea, thats what I told him...As far as the thermostat and all, he is using a z6 head AND block, are they in the same place and all?
