a friend has a 92 prelude that we recently just put a h22a into...since we got it in we took it for a drive, and when he gets into the throttle to accelerate it dies...but when he lets off and lightly taps on the throttle it goes back to idle...any suggestions??

 

Sounds like timing...

 

hmm...likely...he ordered it from hmotors thinking that the timing would be fine but never know...we will have to check that

 

make sure you have the correct ecu. i also have a '92 with a swapped a h22a in it and they sent me the wrong ecu initially.

also, make sure you use the h22 injectors and NOT the h23 ones. the h23 ones do not flow as much as the h22 ones and the car will run very lean. i did this and the car also ran like ***.

faulty knock sensors also cause a bad hesitation too.

what do you mean by "but when he lets off and lightly taps on the throttle it goes back to idle". do you mean it goes down to idle in gear while moving?

 

yeah he just pushes the clutch in and it goes back down to idle...he used a different sensor for the knock, so its a 2 wire instead of the original 1 wire...not sure why but...ill have to chack on that...oh yeah they sent the p13 ecu
