I got this really nasty scratch, How should I get rid of it?

Default I got this really nasty scratch, How should I get rid of it?

I woke up this morning with a really sh!tty suprise. There is a really narly scratch on my driver side handle. This thingis deepd I can see black. Whats the best way to patch it up or make it dissappear and about how much is it gonna cost? Thank.

Well if it's that deep you need to DA it down and refinish it. It can be costly if it's near other panels, cause you'll need to blend.

LOL @ a DA

if you use a DA, you will be there forever. it may be too deep to buff even with a rotary buffer however.

edit: or do you mean sand it down with DA and repaint?

or you can get touch up paint but it wont look good

it will look like *** with touchup paint.

some scratches are just too deep to repair.

you could possibly try to fill it with touchup paint, then wetsand and polish the area to get it to blend, which is what I do for paint chips. But I wouldnt bother with scratches. either it will buff out or it wont. If I cant buff it out I reccomend the customer to a body shop

if it catches across your finger nail it's to far in the paint. 1500 grit sandpaper (wet) .

then buff. i use 3m products and i don't know what you will use but talk to counter person or someone with buffer pad and compound. norton, 3m , mirka etc. each buffing system is different.

hopefully it's not in your basecoat or primer .

if its on the handle take the handle out and repaint it just get the color to match as best as possible it should look ok
