Hey

I have a honda civic lx 06 auto transmission. And I was wondering if anyone have any suggestions to boost hp and performance.

Thanks

Forthcoming replies =

Sell it and buy an Si.
Why did you get an auto LX if you want performance etc etc

My Reply =

Personally ... i wouldn't go and spend the extra money for very minimal results
I would MAYBE plunk down some coin on an HFP kit , suspension & wheels.

BUT.. if you really want something

Injen Short ram or Fujita or AEM
HFP Exhaust (Axle back only) , spending 500 for a catback with ZERO header options & the only piping options being the megan extension ... not worth it
and pick up an Si rear sway used here or on aonther site.

type x is spot on, especially with the other replies you'll likely get.

here's my opinion: I got the EX (same engine as your LX) but with the HFP body kit and 18"....mostly 'cause I liked the looks.

I nixed the Si due to it needing premium fuel and my wife cannot drive a standard.

From a performance perspective, it is pitifuly slow compared to my previous car (v6 Camry). The Civic is absolutely torqueless. But the mileage is what I wanted and it's doing fine in that compartment. And it's a darn good looking torqueless wonder....

But the handling with the HFP kit (lowered suspension and 18") is very strong. It is a fun car on twisty backroads. virtually no roll and sticks like velcro. It ain't ever gonna be a dragster, so get used to it. I've always been a leadfoot, growing up on healthy American v8 power, 300+ HP as routine.

The civic takes some re-training of my brain. I have to concentrate on handling fun rather than just brute force torque-y fun.

my recommendations: go with the handling upgrades and re-train the brain

pretty good replies mentioned above, also check out the Pulley kit from NST. and to go nice with an HFP axle back would be the megan racing downpipe and a custom midpipe.

K&N makes a short ram intake for our lx models. 69-1013TS is the part number.
