what exactly is the El-guage?
Theya re found in 94-96 Prelude Si's and VTEC models.
They are the Lexus type clusters. They go pitch black when the car is off. Looks really nice when you turn the car on. When the car is off, the whole dash is black.
When the Prelude was introduced in 92, the interior got HORRIBLE reviews. This was Hondas attempt to make the interior better. I still have no idea why people didn't like the interior design. I guess it was too different from the 3rd Gen Prelude, and it was a little ahead of its time I guess.
To install, all you need is the cluster, inverter box, and the dash harness. Without the dash harness, the install is MUCH more difficult.

Nope, very easy to take the necessary panels off to swap clusters.
The major problem I ran into when i was going to do mine (never did it since I have 4WS) was getting the dash harness plug out of the fuse box panel.
Yup.

I know, it took me ~6 months to find it.
My 93' Si (H23a1, doesn't have el's)
My 95' S (H22a, has el's)
I'm wanting to swap the gauges and someother interior peices before i sell the 95'
so since i alread have the gauges and the dash harness, will i just have to take out the guages from the two cars and unplug their dash harnesses and then just plug them back into the opposite car?
..srry if this was kinda hard to understand

you guys mean this cluster??

yea i made it blue
if you want plug and play, i got plug and play, hehe
dash harness off a 94-96 lude, EL vtec cluster and the converter box. this will be the plug and play version of the vtec cluster, no splicing, no cutting, no sticky hands. etc

Just find one of the 50 writeups about this install. Personally I thought taking the dash apart was a pita. [/QUOTE]
i can't find any write ups about it any where..
so i should just be black to take off the tweeter covers and then enbold the gauges, take off the clips, take them out, then take out all the wiring in the dash, then do the same to the other lude and just put them back in the way i took them out?

Is it possible to just switch the light from your old 4ws cluster and make it try into the new cluster? Can it be done?
