skunk2 stage3's VS Pro2's.
yeah i was gonna buy pro2's after selling my todas and my buddy said he will trade me some skunk2 stage 3's for my gsr cams + some cash. they seem close to the same VTEC lobe i cant find any dyno graphs on them really. not worried about how they idle but i know the stage3s wil have more of a stock like idle
anyone used either? how did how did ya like them ? any other stuff you can tell me is awsome. just looking for more info since the stage3s willl be cheaper just dont know if they will work well with my setup. ive seen tons of dynos and opinions of the pro2s apparently they rock which is why i was gonna go with them!
my motor is 85x89 13.5:1 gsr.

Skunk2 Stage3's are good cams. Great topend, same non-VTEC lobe as the original Stage2's.
Much easier to tune the idle, like you said, but I would still opt for the Pro2's just because the power off-VTEC will be much much stronger.
Here is a customer's car we tuned running Skunk2 Stage3's.

i remember how those st 3s idled in jay's car, sounded basically stock. I'm assuming if the pro 2s idle like my pro 1s they are lumpy as hell but make power everywhere. based on the deal you can get on the stage 3s i'd say jump on those and see how they do at the dyno

yeah they were pretty good, i dont know what im gonna do yet though just trying to find out which is gonna be better..only thing i need is injectors cause i sold my precision 440s to someone. then my car should be on the road again.
im also buying a degree fixture hopefully soon from mike belben to dial everything in 100%.....and i gotta find someone to fly in and tune my car..

What TB size? Power dropping off a bit even with the 95mm stroke.

skunk2 stage 3's are great cams they make plenty of power top end. i had these cams for my setup and they made the most power out of the ones we tested until the we got the pro3's and of course they dominated everything.
the stage3's made 255ish with the itr manifold i ported. they pretty much stopped making power around 8600 on my setup.
the pro3's made 267 with the same manifold but it made alot more through out the power band and carried the peak power from 8000 to 9000 where we shut down.
i have a b20/v 11.5:1 compression and a street port itr head.

If I recall correctly, it was a 70mm TB.
Peak RPM seems consistant with other stroker motors we've done. Our 98mm methanol motor peaked before 7500 on both BC5's and Pro2's with a head that flowed 310cfm at .500 and a JG VictorX.

You mean that a bigger TB, like a 72mm will help carry the power a bit longer up top?
