Default Air Box Removed in a BB4

I have a 1995 honda prelude
I removed my Air box today and there was a tube coming out of it into some type of solenoid and a tube coming from that to the after market intake. The solenoid or sensor was conected with some wires, i unplugged it and rmoved everything that connected to the air box. Removing this sensor what effect will it have on my car?

Wait.. if it was just the intake housing, then no. I'm sorry for the confusion.

it was a senor or solenoid that was conected to the bottom of the air box through a tube and had a another tube connecting to the intake
