when instaling an intake
well i have 97 accord dx my question is where the battery is theirs an air duct should i leave it and take out airbox and do usall install or take out i don't think it's in the way so yup
K I don't quite understand your question. But this is what I make out of it.
When installing an intake, the battery stays in the same location. you just have to remove the old intake tube and the upper part of the air box and replace it with a new one. <---- SRI(short ram) if you're installing a CAI (cold air) you have to remove the lower portion also.

hes talking about the weird plastic thing that is on the side of the battery that is part of the stock inatke system. if your replacing your intake with a aftermarket one then all that becomes unfunctional so it would serve no purpose anymore, whether to remove it or leave it is entriely up to you.
I'm not sure how the 5th gen models are, but with the 6th gen there is a resonator box that needs to be removed and then the CAI tube goes in place of it - right next to the battery.

I just installed the SRI part of mine and still removed it. It's a K&N CAI but you can install it as a SRI so I did that to not have to worry about going through puddles.
