Ok so I know some stuff about trannies but not a lot so two days ago i took the hole thing apart. i had everything layed out in order until i had to slid it all together! well i finally got everything back together, but the input shaft has an 1/8 inch of play in it. This isn't any thing new this tranny has always been like this but it knocked when i turned. no other tranny i have had in my car has done this. now i noticed in a photo i found that it had 2 washers acting as shims on the bearing before the input shaft slides into the case. mine only has one should the input shafted be shimmed or not? the tranny is a JDM cable Y1 LSD. i really need answers as fast as possible i'd like to have it back in my car by june 2 i have a date with the drag strip! thanks for any help.
