Default slim fan question

ok so i bought a 12 inch slim fan to clear up the engine bay even more. its for the stock rad but just by putting it on the stock rad i can see that it does not come close to the holders. Has someone else installed this? can you shead some light on what to do?

I figure i should just get some metal pieces and drill holes in them, us bolts to the rad holes and bolts for the fan holes and tighten them up. Will this work fine or will it move around?

What about the wires? can i just cut the stock ones and attach to the new wires? do i need that plug in?

Your slim fan should come with install hardware, just use it to install the fan. Mine came with zip-tie-like things that go through the rad core and have a peice that snaps onto the other side and they work really well. You can also run very thin bolts through the core with a nut/washer on the tother side.

well mine came with no hardware so i am a little upset. ill post pictures tonight when i get home so that you guys can see what i have to play with. Im probably just going to fab up some custom brackets since its not hard at all. The plug is what i am a little worried about. can someone answer the splicing question? is it alright to just cut the plugs off or the two wires and connect them to the new to wires without the plugs? its just wire, or is there something special about the plugs?

It's just wire...it's even color-coded for you! Just attach blue to blue and black to black.

It's probably a good idea to splice before (or after...however you look at it) the plugs so you can still retain them.

Awesome, that is exactly what i just did today. I bought a piece of galvanized aluminum today and plan on cutting it up and bending it the same way. Looks great. I think i have the same fan. It has the same plastic mounting pieces.
