96 gsr door lock actuator problems
Hi, i recently bought a gsr and none of the power locks work. Im about to check the actuators and i have read that the 6-p connector pins D and E are responsible for making the actuators turn on. the service manual that i was looking at said to put power on the D and ground on the E. The question i have is.. what kind of power? 12v? should i wire a battery to it and ground a wire and touch it on the pins. Im kind of a noob, but i think i did a good amount of research on it i just need a bit of direction to go about testing them. And btw, i need to buy a multimeter. Thanks!
what do you mean they dont work? do you hear any noise? do they try to engage but seem like they just dont have the power to do so? if you dont get any reaction in the motor at all try the fuse and check the wiring. if you hit the button and they look like they TRY to engage then try lubeing the motor.. there was a thread a few days ago about that. but i hear its a common problem.
fuse is ok and the wiring looks good. It doesnt make any noise at all. I want to see if any 1 knew how to test the actuators and door lock controller thingy on the drivers side. thanks
