is my motor done?
hey.whats up guys...i drive a 91 crx si with a 1st gen b16...i was driving the car on the freeway yesterday and suddenly my car lost power.i got off an exit.made a stop and my car died.it didnt start.i pushed it over to the side and popped the hood open.i noticed the radiator cap is missing....the radiator was completely empty.i checked the dip stick for the motor oil and it was dripping creamy white stuff..im guessing water got in the block?..so is my motor pretty much done? if so, then ill just start looking for another motor.....the b16 head should be fine right?.....well thats it for now..ill appreciate all the replies ill be getting..thanks
Yeah most likely your motor is toast. Your pistons may have seized in the bores. The head may be alright but it depends on how long water has been in the oiling system and if it's caused any damage to the camshaft journals. Water does not lubricate as well as oil does in this case. Time for a new motor. You may be able to get a B16 bottom end or LS for pretty cheap and hook it up.

Edit: I should also mention in cases of overheating and such that the parts like the head tends to warp and require machining to return it to normal, and pistons will expand dramatically and usually ruins the ring's sealing abilities as well as scuffing on the skirt and everything. Not a good thing.
