Default my new $100 mod!

picked this up last night for $100! dudes insurance company bought him a new one after a wreck he had. so he let this thing go for next to nothing. there is one or 2 imperfections. dont even know if u can see em in teh pics, but either way... nothing an FG squad or seibon sticker wont cover! enjoy

doesnt line up 100% on this one, but i think i can work with it

Aye, take some better pics please

I'm not sure if I'm a fan of CF Hoods on RR yet or not.... So far my personal opinion is that it looks kinda "meh" to me in your pics.

Maybe the locks are what is throwing me off.

But hell yeah, I'd jump at $100 for that hood.

aren't you supposed to run hood pins on carbon fiber hoods for safety reasons?

here are some pics after i gave it a quick wash. and i mean quick. yea, i dont like the locks, but for the price u cant beat it. also, people will sometimes add them for safety since its so light and if the wind catches it just right it could potentially rip back at the windshield. it happened to a friend of mine. u dont just mess up ur car 8 ways from sunday, but the hood has to go somewhere when it comes off the car. my friends went into an 18wheeler!
anyways, here are some better pics.

Congrats on a great deal, but yea, not a fan of CF either. Maybe, on a Black SI, but on a Red, in my opinion it takes away from the looks.

I believe the "main" advantage of CF is less weight, correct? How much are you saving with a CF hood? I have had my hood off (when they installed the SC), and it really did not seem to be all that heavy to begin with.

Anyway, as long as your happy, that is what counts. Can't deny that it was great deal, thats for sure.

x2. i might be getting one anyways for my NHBP fg, but is there a big difference between OEM hood and a CF hood weight-wise?

"Weight reduction" is just an excuse. People buy CF hoods and get 80lbs worth of speakers. It's a BS reason. I think CF pieces just look good.

I think the hood looks pretty good although you could get smaller locks/pins.

im going to try and get rid of the huge nipples on the hood (locks). and as far as weight... yea there really was a big difference between the two. i would say the carbon fiber weighs about 3 times less than the oem hood. i had to be careful not to drop the hood when taking it off, and when i picked up the carbon fiber it almost blew out of my hands with a strong breeze! not literally, its just alot lighter than oem.

That is MUCH better looking 95turboteg!

If you can get different hood pins, that might be a bonus.

tonight while i was at work and on a break my car was sittin in the parking lot under one of the lights, and i swear it looked so much better than these pics can make it look. i gotta figure out a way to make my camera catch it perfectly. it looks so clean at night! and yes, i am trying to find new hood pins, but at the same time, they are the $100 lock and key hoodpins, so i dont knwo what i should do.

Congrats on the purchase, not too sure about CF hoods on the FGs. Maybe once your drop it and get some new shoes it'll look pimp.

Not a fan of the nipple locks on CF hoods.
But Hey 100 bucks is dirt cheap,

yeah the hood looks good + killer deal. However the pin does take away some of that, they look ugly... reminds me of that movie Hellboy
