Default sleeving my block with Dartons

I called a machine shop to get my block sleeved to run Darton Sleeves (NOT MID) and Wiseco pistons, and he told me $1800, which sounds absurd. Does anyone know what it should generally cost? I don't have any other machine shops around the area that I know of (Northern Jersey).

Honestly I thought it would be a lot cheaper. I am not sure if he thought that would be for MID sleeves because I know they are a lot harder to put in.

Liner install should run around $700, IIRC. $1800 sounds a bit high unless there is other machine work being done (balacing, line hone, etc).

I just got off the phone with the machine shop around here and they said it would be 600$ ballpark price.
Although I am going to check into them a bit more before I do anything. I wouldnt mind payin the extra 150 or 200$ to send it to somewheres that does them ALL the time.

yeah that price makes a lot more sense to me, not $1800. But he is going to call me back and let me know the full details.

That includes all the work? Like boring out the old block and putting in the sleeves? What's shipping like?
