Anyone help. PLEASE!!!

I can't get reverse on my coupe, I ve had a good mechanic look at it and he has checked everything he can to come back with "every gear is perfect but just cant get your reverse" He says it might be internal in the box however the box is a fully sealed box that cant be accessed at all, unlike most gear boxes. Does anyone know a solution to this or is it a new gear box
