Default Getting an ITR into the 12's Na??

Hey guys, need a bit of help here. A friend is getting a 97 ITR in about a week or so. He says he wants a 12 second N/a with the B18C5 engine.
I am not sure if this is possible! Does anyone have a setup they can think of ? Budget is $4000-6000
He wants me to tell him what he needs so he can start purchasing the parts...
I tried to explain to him that an ITR is not a drag car but he cant seem to understand that!
TIA

everyones knows about it because it not only street races, but also drags at the track which tons of people see. Plus many people here including myself know the owners and the team, etc...
Yes he runs mid-low 12's.

Just wait, the SVP car is attempting to hit it. Hopefully this year they might do it. Its possible to do it. Power isn't the problem on hitting the time. If you can hit low 12's on just power and engine alone then your probally good for high 11's. All you need to do is work on the weight, etc...
I will tell you this, the SVP R will hit 11's this year or next pending when the owner has the time to do a few more little tweeks and changes in his setup.

anybody know his setup, or a website of his car.....oh and all these 12 second ITR's seem to be doing it with 13inch slicks, for some reason they can't do it on 15inchers

he too is doing it on 13" slicks. As for his setup, he doesn't list it anywhere. I'll tell you this though, its very very basic and with most of Skunks items in it.

he drives his car everyday to work and home, etc... As for streetable yes it is. But as for if its street legal, no it isn't.
You can do it with 15" slicks, however you will have to do extreme with weight, power and setup.

the svp ITR also did the 4 lug conversion to reduce weight (and to fit those 13" wheels on the front). but i think the rear is still 5 lug

you can do a jun stage 3 package, clutch&flywheel, some headwork, good tuning and GOOD DRIVING- i've seen it done numerous times. my friends '00 R just went 12.9@106mph all motor.

then other options may itbs, dfi or speedpro tuning, quaife, even going with a bigger bored and the list can go on till eternity.

the c5 is a good motor all around but personally id rather swap out the block for the extra power.

I am hoping for low 13's with my setup at sea level (If I ever get time to travel to a sea level track) and I have about 6-8,000 into my car.

Budget is $4000-6000
Is that budget enough to make a stock R run 12's??

If you can do all your own work and use all that money for parts, yes.
