Default Is it worth it?

i just wanna know is it worth it to me to buy an 1987 acura integra with a zc in it for parts? The car and motor have 160,000 miles on it. The body of it's shot, but the motor has been beat, i mean hard. It doesn't run right now. The kid wants 200 for it. is it worth it?

That would be a D16A1, not a ZC. As for the car....your call. Do you want an '87 integra?

Nothing really special in the teg. It won't swap into an EF.

Best bet would be turbo. Anything else will be lots of $ for little power increase.

I love those tegs..But i dont like 86-87 because they don't have electronically controlled distributors like the 88-89...

I dont think you should get that one, because you say the body's shot and the motors beat,so it would serve you no purpose ,don't waste $200 on that pos..,,that could be $200 towards a real zc dohc motor

the best thing u can do. is get that front lip frm that integra.. i recently went to the junk yard. an notice that the lip are similiar to the sir or the jdm one.. the only problem u have is to customize it.. u might as well get the 90-93, that motor isnt worth gettin if its beat.. might as well get a ls motor, or just swap the head of ur ride..

we'll yea the motor is beat, but it doesn't smoke. I just saw the body on it. The rockers are gone and there is a small whole in drvers rear quarter. I know it not a ZC, but how will it do with just a turbo.

MY question is, are you planning on swapping the engine in anything other then a 3rd gen civic or first gen crx? Cause it doesn't fit anything else and for 200$ it's barely worth it.

You can make ANY engine handle boost like a dream, it really depends on the quality of your parts, and the quality of your tuner.
