check light comes on only at 3000rpm and 40mph. when i shut down and restart, it goes off. recently had a head (& timing belt and other stuff)change due to overheating. realised pick up is sluggish too. and white smoke out of the exhaust when start engine. what could be the problem? HELP

 

Jump the service connector and locate the Check Engine light problem.
And go from there.

 

who did the gasket change? was the head and block checked for any warpage? was a compression test done before and after head change? are you loosing oil quickly?

What ?? It's more likely a bad o2 sensor affecting air/fuel ratios. What does oil have to do with running sluggish ??

 

holy hell i read that wrong i thought i read blue smoke. oops my bad.

 

tks guys... checked the connector.... gave me a 23 knock sensor. but if realy is the knock sensor faulty, shouldnt it comes on when i start and nt jus appear after driving for a while?

 

check your freggin map sensor, that happened to me about year and a half ago...check the map sensor vac lines especially.
