I just purchased a carbon fiber VIS trunk for my EK Hatch. I was referred to this company that sells these windows.

Has anyone ever tried these or know anyone that has? Just looking for some feedback on them. I just need the rear one and not the sides...

 

Rand0m on ClubCivic.com had some in his 5G hatch. Someone threw rocks at the though and they ended up shattering. They were very sharp and jagged and I'd say incredibly dangerous if the vehicle had been involved in an accident.

I wouldn't recommend them for a street vehicle.

 

there are a lot of other ways to drop that much weight in your car, that are much safer for street use. when something says not approved for street use it usually means fing dangerous if you get in a wreck. you could; refabricate all of your stock interior panels, headliner, and dash, out of carbon fiber. remove sound insulation, pull out your ac, remove window regulators and use pullstraps. of course replace front clip with carbon fiber slider 1 peice. but with 617 whp the one thing that is going to be your main concern is getting that power to the ground. you might as well add some weight with comfort in mind and get a set of 435/50-17 custom made for your car and wide body the crap out of your car since you have more horse than a showroom viper, and money must not be an issue.

 

The EK is just a track car, not daily driven.... I also have a b16 SI that i am going turbo on and that is the daily driver....

Yeah, i just wanted those windows for the track car.... i drive it on the street once every blue moon.... but it is hella fun on the freeway on top end
