Default New guy

Well, I had to get me a car due to the fact that my G was keyed and and rear ended while parked in front of my house. So I went with a reliable pimp ride! This is what $600 bucks can get you from a desperate person! Car is completely stock engine wise. Anybody in the SAN DIEGO area willing to help out a noob like me? Looking for some ideas from some of you!

Heres my idea, sell that EF and take the money you get from the EF and buy a Kenstyle kit for that G35!

first suggestion, take the rims off the ef, and get some nice 15's, if the ef is an std or dx, (not hating..) maybe sell it and get an si, it will have more power ect.. and it will most likely come in a better color. lol. good luck though! nice g! buddy's sis has one, damn it sticks to the road....

Nah, I'm going to have some fun with this car! Its a great car, and helps me keep my baby parked in the garage! As for the rims, yeah, too big for this. I believe its a STD?? Only thing I dont like about it is the fact that there is no PS, sucks having to crank on the wheel to park sometimes.

Yeah brother, $600 bucks! Dude was getting stationed over in Japan, needed the ducketts and I jumped on it! He wanted 1200 for it, I offered cash and that was that! I had to replace the distributor on it and that was it! I think that the alternator may be going, but I have to go get it checked first. I feel like a lil kid all over again with this new toy! Gonna be fun, I'm going to take that advice and find some rims for it!

To tell the truth, interior is great! Seats are in almost perfect condition, just a lil elbow grease and it'll be nice! Stinks like a 17yo car, but that was expected. Wouldn't mind changing out the trunk carpet, but overall pretty damn nice! A lil off topic, but does anyone know where I can come up on a drivers side exterior door handle? Went to 3 salvage yards today, and no one had them! Shoot, also need a passenger mirror and head light, well not really, but would like to replace them!

please keep it old guy gold and put some nice rims on it. I seriously regret selling my lil gold hatch. Mine was swapped with a built b16 but I still liked having a gold car that people wouldn't look twice at. That color keeps you from being noticed often.

Ive already dipped a couple hundred in getting new plugs, wires, timing belt and an alternator for this baby! Ordered a new set of headlights, corners and all new bulbs for the front end. Just want to keep this car running great as it already is. Going to keep it the color it is, just need to come up with some rims for it! Already put the other ones on craigslist, anyone reccomend a good type of exhaust for this car? Well, not too expensive, but not too cheap either!

Most exhaust shops will do it for a pretty good price, i have 2.5" mild steel catback with a oval style muffler and paid $125.

Don't bother putting an exhaust on it if it's still DPFI.

I'm not exactly sure how to tell that! Care to explain how I can go and figure this out?

Yup, thats my engine! So its not worth putting an exhaust on the car then? Why is that? Please forgive me for my ignorant questions, as I'm still learning this car!

DPFI stands for Dual Point Fuel Injection.

The engine has two fuel injectors shared by the entire motor. This is pretty much useless for making power no matter what you do to the car. All the "mods" in the world can't make power on a DPFI engine.

Converting the motor to MPFI is the single-most important thing you can do. Either swap in a cheap D16A6 or other D-series that is already MPFI, or slap a MPFI manifold on the engine you have now.

Personally, if it were my car, I would just clean it up and bring the car back to what it looked like when it rolled off the factory floor. It's only got 80,000 on the clock, just clean it up and drive it til the wheels fall off.
