This is for anyone curious as how our modified ITRs would compare with a newer AP2 S2000 w/Intake.

Good friend of mine came over for the weekend with his new 04 S2000 w/comptech intake, so we went out to the track (airstrip) to have a little fun with our honda toys of course


Ended up doing 1st gear rolls, I don't like launching my car, neither does he, so we just wanted to see how it'd go. We raced 3 times all the way to approximately 110-120mph from a 5-10mph rolls.

We both each did the 3 honk thing each, and had the same results. I had about 1-1/2 or 2 car lenghts usually ahead.. Enough to actually merge infront of him if I wanted and have alot of room still.

I was quite surprised with the results, thought I would have gotten outedged, especially 3rd gear, but it seemed like i was inching more then anything?


considering that s2000 is a flat 14 sec ride and has more HP, im real proud of her
But yeah, his car is still 10x nicer awesome car

hmm ull prolly get flamed...but good to hear about the win man...and at least you did it at what seems to be a safe place. I was with 5 buddies driving to Ocean City thursday, all had V8's. At 218whp I was giving the 03 Cobra hell lol

we werent on public streets.

How did you get on an air strip?... it's a little hard to believe.

Lets not turn this into some kind of debate here...

air strips.. heh, i have like 4-5 private paved ones around my area... i live in a rural country.. some of my neighbours have nice toys

well the people on here tend to "flame" against people who "drag race" their itr's but me i dont really care. are you going to part out your car when u sell it or keep all the parts?

i am selling it the way it is, that way a true enthusiast can enjoy and put it to good use and smack around some nice cars on the track

 

A bolt-on RSX-S will walk a stock S2000, so this comes as no surprise to me that an ITR will do the same thing.

 

 

there would be no reason to flame. thats actually some good information. i always wondered how they would compare in a real life situation (not just by looking at specs and figures)

Yesterday on the way home a silver s2k wants to impressed his girl so he got beside us and revving his motor.I wasnt driving, i was laying back enjoying the cold a/c haha..ANyway, a/c was on and my buddy walked the s2k without downshifting...I also used to own a spa yellow s2k, at around 120mph, it seems like it just stay there..just like my other buddy 07 civic si 4dr.Pulled hard,but stay at 120mph..

lol what? My S2000 pulls hard even after 130mph. No offense...but if i lost to the OP's ITR in my AP1 (only mod is an intake), i'd be pretty damn surprised. Is your friend aware that you can give it more than 60% throttle? lol.

My friend has been driving an S2000 for the past 7 months now, he just got rid of his 01 Berlina black for the 04 he is a competant driver for sure.

He has driven my car and isn't suprised at all.. he calls it the little demon

No one gets flamed for drag racing there car on a track.

I'll take my new, oil burning turd of an ITR over my old AP1 anyday...

As for drag racing, it's your car... do as you please.

 

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that a ITR with more mods than the S2K will walk it, both cars are VERY close stock with good drivers.

If I had to pick one, an S2K or an ITR, I'd go ITR, but since I can have more than one car...
