The Pyrotect Helmet SA2005 is $248 shipped. Its designed by Bell and basically the same as the Bell M2. Just $100 cheaper.

is there a reason for buying "HAMP" filters or is it just for that bling factor?

Wow. That's a grip.99 to pay for an Auto X helmet. I use my Icon Alliance SS motorcycle helmet for Apex and Auto X... not to mention when I ride my bikes. It was less than $150 and is more comfy than any automotive racing helmet I've tried.

w/ certain SCCA events. Motorcycle helmets do not meet the requirements. A motorcycle helmet would not have passed TECH for the events I'm going to be involved in.

No SCCA inspector in 6 years has ever given me flack for using a motorcycle helmet. Maybe I'm just lucky.
