I'm sure they are good, but there are other pads out there that will do just as good for less money.

yup, such as ebc green, a very affordable pad with good stopping power.

What!?!? EBC sucks more than a deep dark black hole.

whats wrong with them?
they are very rotor friendly unlike some hawk(i always see hawk crack rotor but never on ebc).
they can stand pretty high heat(750C for red pad), i never got problem from them in track(well, one only.......)
the green are very affordable, 49-60 and they are very good for street, less dust. and they are good for track too(well see the down side).

the only down side i can think of is they wear out fast under race/very high heat condition especially use with slot disc.(for green/red, yellow are very good in race condition).
my fastbrake kit come with carbotech and it disappointed me at first. after i worm out a set of red in track then i was forced to use them again, but since that, they are ok. i guess it needs to break in/heat cycle(i think i trip from LA to laguna should break it in enough, well, i was wrong), but ebc never need that.
