used block w/ water in oil
cheap used block w/ water in oil, not a flooded engine. i just want to replace it w/ my knocked engine.
i just got a short block that this fool(got a bad wreck) left out in the rain for couple of months w/ the valve cover slightly open. camshafts do have a minor rust or build up but i gotten it taken care of.
the block has compression but not sure how much, not until i can mate a tranny on w/ starter to test it.
has anyone bought a block that have water contaminated it? if so what is the remedy to de-contaminate the water? anythign i should be awared of?
so far i flushed the water/oil and flushed it twice by manually priming the oil pump. ill do couple of flush w/ some cheap supertech oil to make sure.

If the cams are rusty, so are the cylinders. Strip it ALL the way down, get everything cleaned and the block honed, reassemble, and you should be good to go.
i have got them with the cylinder walls rusted.smoked like a ****. the other motor was blew up so it didnt matter. like he said i would refresh it if the rust hasnt pitted into the cylinder wall, which is nothing a bore cant fix
