Default Apex-i VAFCII?

Well I put a VAFCII on my stock 97 civic d16y8. I have the basic I/H/E. I pretty much just bought it to make my V-TEC kick in sooner so I have it kicking in at 4200 RPM. Everytime Im racing on the highway it tends to hit some sort of rev-limiter at around 5500 RPM,and the check engine light turns on, so that really messes up the race and end up losing it to a shitty car.Any idea what it can be? And what else can I do with the VAFCII? I really have no clue, i bought it off my friend for $50 bucks, he wanted to go buy some cocaine so maybe thats why I got a good deal.

take it out and i guarantee the problem goes away

you basically put it in, have no idea what you're doing, and lowered the vtec

its for more fine tuning your fuel.not just to make your vtec kick. like he said take it off you dont need it on a stock motor anyway. get good head work a good valve train and cams and then get it tuned by somebody who knows what they are doing

never add a vtec controller and lower your vtec point unless you are fine tuning your air/fuel maps. my suggestion is to set everything back to stock and take off the vafcII.
