no offense but whats with the black hoods?
Hey,
I am new to customizing cars....if ya read a thread or 2 back, you will see that I just won a 2002 civic EX.
I don't get the black hoods....do they weigh less or somethin? And why not paint them the color of the car? I used to hate they way they look, but Its growing on me and it doesnt look to bad.
Oh yeah,
and why black wheels? No matter how hard I try I cant make myself like them. I have seen some cars on here that look great even with the black wheels. But if they had chrome, or even painted wheels they would look better.
Just an opinion, I am not flaming anyone or anything like that. Just a newbie. THANKS GUYS

Black hood is carbon fiber fool (weighs less), and black wheels is JDM
The first thing you need to do on that civic is slam it, cause that car is so damn tall.

Hey man, I just noticed you are in Columbus.
I am about 2 hours from you. I was actually in Columbus yesterday.....I went through there on my way to Mansfield, going to the Mid-Ohio Racer track. I was goingto driving school, that was part of winning the civic

You shouldnt worry about what "JDM" is, because if you dont know by now, you will never, never know. chrome/euro/indiglo/bags/vinyl =
take a while (couple months) to read up and decide the direction you want your car to go. read this forum and find out what people hate and what is liked. I'm not saying to copy off everyone but it will keep you from making huge glow in the dark mistakes and for the most part people usually agree the clean look is the way to go.
also check out one of those "black hoods" up close in person. it's actually carbon fiber thread woven. looks 10 times better in person.
btw "jdm" means japanese domestic manufacturer or japenese direct manufacturer depending on who you ask. real japanese parts...usually from the factory. now a days it more or less refers to the racing style people in japan are using to trick out their cars.

Black wheels and JDM are as dead as Sacramento's chance of getting into the playoffs.

carbon fiber hood = somehow turned into a fashon statement, i dont understand it.. i mean..yellow, red, white, etc car.. black hood.. that **** looks stupid as ****.. but since some company in japan doesnt paint the CF hood because the car isnt meant to look good (spoon) everyone thinks its cool to have a black hood and ashy gray rims..
basically, if you dont need weight reduction, you dont need a CF hood..and if the car is meant for the street, and you want weight reduction, some guys buy CF hoods and paint them... then some idiots actually ask them "why did you paint a CF hood?" haha that question always makes me laugh..
