Where's the locking Gas Cap ?
OK, with gas prices headed north I want a little protection from the siphon monkeys.
I know that Honda doesn't offer one for Fits, and the check engine light error happens with the cheap auto parts store models. Any ideas ? I used a drawer lock from the hardware store once on my VW gas tank door, but you do have to cut into the body, which I guess voids your rust warranty. What options has anybody found for this problem ? Thanks, and I have gotten 41 mpg with cruise control at 60 mph. for a full tank.

Um yes Honda sells an OEM gas cap with a key lock for around $30-$40! "I know" because thats were I got mine! They are an option now that they dont make a lockable gas door on most of the new Hondas. Contact your local dealer.
Your idea of using "hardware store" parts on a brand new Fit is lame!!!

Apparently Fit's sold in other markets are made such that the gas door (not cap) will only open when the key is in the ignition.
But they took that away for the US version. That's lame.
