Default 91 civic, dies randomly

this is my mom's car, I think its an lx, dpfi i think

the car has died on her quite a few times now, having to be towed and serviced a few times and it still dies randomly. She says sometimes it has started back, moving a few feet before it dies again. I know they have replaced the ignition switch and the fuel pump. The tech told her that they drove the car with a fuel preassure gauge and when it dies there was zero fuel preassure.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

do you have a recommendation on where to get a part for it, for the right price and reliability?

you can get a coil or an ignitor or both from honda or probably napa and maybe autozone.. are you getting any check engine lights? it might be cheaper just to buy a whole new distributor from distributor king or something like that.

the main relay handles power to the fuel pump.. so if the fuel pump stops running at some point, it could be a problem with the main relay overheating and cutting out the fuel pump, which would explain the 0 fuel pressure.

There's your answer then, it's not getting any fuel. What's probably happening is that the fuel pump is kicking in and out. Fuel pumps dont last forever, they die eventually.

Or, like the poster above me said, the Main Relay could be toast too. Next time it dies, have her turn the key to the 'on' position to see if the main relay makes a clicking sound.
