Just wondering if all of the zc cable tranny's have a half shaft. A buddy has one i'm looking into, it came off of a dohc zc he had at one point(but never put into his car). He kept the tranny and sold the motor. Tranny doesn't have half shaft, so could it be a zc tranny still? And also, do they have a specific code to them?

 

Well, to DOHC ZC had the haft shafts (the SOHC ZC didn't).
There is no way to look at the trans to see if a half shaft was or wasn't on there -he could have easily misplaced it as it just slides right out of the tranny (it bolt to the actual engine block)

 

Ah, i see. I've never fooled with the zc's, but i want one to mix with my Si and hf trannys. It's free so i'll probably get it, just gotta pay shipping on it.
