When I take off in first, my car starts rattling hard and it'll make a few thumping noises (kind of like I'm popping my clutch over and over) until I get to around 2.5 rpm, then when I shift it does it again but not as bad. Same for 3rd but a lot less intense, then once I get to 4th gear it doesn't do it. Anyone have any idea what's wrong with my car?

EDIT: forgot to mention that I also just replaced the clutch last month so I don't think it has anything to do with that.

Have you checked your engine mounts? When you let off the gas at low RPMS in like 1st gear do you hear the thumping noises also?

 

I feel it only when I accelerate at a low RPM. And no, I haven't checked my engine mounts yet.

EDIT: But I recall my mechanic mentioning my engine mounts needing to be replaced soon but I couldn't afford to fix it at the time they replaced my clutch. How much would it cost me?

Also, another question. Would I mess up my car if I drove it for a few more days or would it be okay?
