Default 2001 Accord EX Transmission slip, flare. Looking for Honda TSB

2001 Accord has intermittent problem with slip in 1-2,2-3,3-4.

Has done this twice and quit twice. Right now it is fine.

Honda issued Technical Support Bulletin to dealers but I can't get my hands on one. Also extended warranty on Trans to 109,000 or 93 months. (Mine has 117,000).

One occassion D-4 light blinked, pulled battery cable to reset ECM and car ran fine after that. Second time, no blinking D-4.

Any mechanics that can help please reply. Already did all the basics.

I am 35 years retired ASE so I just need to see if anybody has had this problem.

I believe it to be electrical, but may be wrong.

No its just the tranny is horrible. Especially when the weather is colder, mine shifts fine when its warm out but slips once or twice a week when its colder outside.

You need to have your local dealer look at it as they had a recall on these.

You might qualify for a replacement.

A lot of times it is best to call Honda of America Customer Service first and haggle them to get it done for free. Make sure they make a record of it and then let the dealer know that you have already talked to them.

see if honda will offer any assistance with the repair. Otherwise it will cost you between $4 and $5 K to get it replaced. Do not rebuild it, do not j/y a replacement. REPLACE IT.
