Color match my mirrors? Yay or Nay

I've been having crazy ideas about painting over my carbon Vision type Dc mirrors. I've never seen type dc's painted and wanted to know what H-T thinks.

paint the base, but not brown. paint it a nice dark flat trim black. just make sure its nice and dark. if you did brown i think it would look cheap, but definately dont paint over the carbon fiber
