Calling all h22 guru's
hey guys my name is josh and i am new to the whole h-series
first of all let me tell you that yesterday i just purchased an 1992 civic vx with a supercharged h22 that was recently for sale on honda market place
You might ask why am i posting about an EG in the prelude forum?
Because more than likely most of you guys will have answers for my thoughts questions and concerns.
Before you are thinking that i am a newb and dont know how to use this site, i have went into the prelude faq's and went under JRSC infom but the link no longer works. After driving my car basically non stop for the past day, my curiousity is getting the best of me on how to make this setup better, or common problems of this setup. So whether your comments about the setup are
positive or
negative type them at me because all i want to do is learn, learn, learn about this setup. Thanks guys.

What are your questions , you will not find many people with h22/supercharged/ eg's. I know the car you are talking about , cuz If I remember it was a custom kit. What are your concerns? If I remember correctly it made something like 225 whp or something . If I were you , I'd diffinetly put a wideband on it and have it retuned , just to insure that it's a strong setup.
well the first think i want to concentrate on is the suspension setup considering that it has the stock struts with ebay coilovers on the front
, as far as tuning, i may leave that alone for now because i truly believe that this car runs awesome, there is no rough spots in the rev range and it makes smooth power up to redline, i think it is tuned with crome but i am not 100% sure, what i was wondering is things like what size of exhaust would be appropriate for this setup and what kind of boltons would be the best for this setup. Also, this question is kind of directed towards people at have a supercharged h22 but you may know this, with stock internals would a 9lb pulley upgrade be too much for an everyday drive running on pump gas say 93-94 octane?

Definitely do your suspension, get all that power from the h22 to the ground.
How's your understeer? I'd imagine the increased weight of the motor would be pretty noticeable without a real nice alignment?

the understeer is terrible from going from a b series crx with full suspension to an eg with a big old h22 in it its a world of a difference in handling, i dont know if this car will ever be setup for handling probably just straight line. Also, i was considering omni sports setup but wasnt sure whether to go with the STREET kit or SPORT kit. Whats the difference. Exhaust wise i am thinkning about going with a buddy club spec 2 exhaust which i believe is 2.5", but i dont know if that would be big enough for an h22 considering i hear that now a days people with k20's go with 3" pipe, so why wouldnt an h22 go with 3"?
