CRX project - Input welcome
Kay wth, they locked my last thread
anyways i went and saw my car today. it was covered in algea, wouldn't turn over and the hood wouldn't pop open, took me 45 minutes to get it open (mostly cause i didn't have tools with me though) anyways long story short im on a good start towards building my race car. Im a little curious why everyone thinks its such a bad idea to under take such a project with no experience though. I self taught my self computers, electronics and programming. So why the hell can't i teach my self mechanical engineering?

just to let you know.
Mechanical Engineering is designing things.
Mechanic working on cars.
Lots of differences.
Mechanical Engineering - 4 years of school. Trust me on this one. I'm a degreed Mechanical Engineer.
I'm a mechanic by school of hard knocks.
You can teach yourself how to be a mechanic. Get the right books and learn, that is what I've always said.
The one thing I say I refuse to pay somebody $90 an hour if I can do it.
If your talking about building a race car, I would suggest reading books before you take up a wrench.
All racing requires rules on car building etc.

Well i don't so much mean build a race car as just a real fast car to use on the race tracks, i relize racing has sanctions. as well im going for mechanical / electrical engineering anyways, i kinda just discovered the joy of cars on the side.
Also, im perfectly aware cars involve fire and death. which dosn't bother me for the following reasons :
1) Im a pyro
2) I had depression for a very long time, it went away. Now i do not wish death upon my self but im certainly not gonna run from it at the expense of some cheap fun (w00t sky diving)
So does anyone have any helpful input like ideas, rather than discouragement. cause seriously, i self taught my self how to work with pic micro chips and a car's alot less complicated than that.
