Default Balancing Flywheel necesary when resurfacing ?

I just dropped of my stock b16 flywheel at the machine shop to be resurfaced. They said that they dont usually balance them. Is balancing necessary, is it a common practice when replacing the clutch ?

Shouldn't need to be rebalanced as equal amouts of material are being removed. You're not just taking a chunk out of one side.
